Overall Project Description
ATC plans to build new power lines in Racine County. The project includes:
- Two new double-circuit 345,000-volt power lines would extend from the Electronics and Information Technology Manufacturing (EITM) zone in the village of Mount Pleasant to existing power lines about three miles west of Interstates 41 and 94 in the village of Yorkville.
- New power lines between new and existing substations within the EITM zone are also included in the project.
This project requires approval from the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. The project is estimated to cost approximately $115 million.

What are the role of the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin?
The PSCW is the regulatory agency that reviews and approves major utility projects in Wisconsin. ATC must submit an application to the PSCW with route options and all the documentation required for agency to review the project and render a decision, which can take up to a year.
How much will the project cost and who is going to pay for it?
We anticipate the cost of the projects will be approximately $115 million. The cost of the project would be shared by all ATC customers.
