Process for introducing new route options for Western Milwaukee County Electric Reliability Project clarified

PEWAUKEE, Wis. – News reports today indicating a new route for a proposed transmission line in Western Milwaukee County are inaccurate.Over an 18-month period, American Transmission Co. has encouraged public participation in its Western Milwaukee County Electric Reliability Project by conducting public open houses to gather input and feedback on route options. That outreach resulted both in overhead and underground route options for consideration by the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin. The PSC is the state regulatory body that will evaluate and select the final route later this year. ATC filed its project application with the PSC in February; the PSC has determined the application is complete, and is in the process of scheduling public and technical hearings. At this point in the process, we encourage any interested parties to intervene in the case with the PSC and submit alternate routes for PSC consideration.
